ENNISTYMON’s Cillian Rouine was exceptional in defence and attack for his side as they qualified for the TUS Clare SFC quarter-finals to earn him the Martin Daly Autos/The Clare Echo player of the week.
Centre-back Cillian finished up as Ennistymon’s top scorer with seven points to his credit as they forced a draw with Lissycasey to keep their championship bid alive.
With four minutes of normal time remaining, they trailed by four points but when the need was greatest up-stepped with a brace of two pointers to level matters and secure second spot in Group 2 for Ennistymon.
His ability to kick two pointers wasn’t always clear but became apparent as he tried to mount a comeback in their second round loss to Kilmihil and was evident once again when leading the way for the North Clare Magpies in round three.
Cillian had the assist for Josh Guyler’s goal on forty minutes. The goal coming off a tremendous run from Rouine. He continues to be one of their real leaders and set another fine example with his third round showing.
