COROFIN GAA club’s annual race night has a record 690 horses raring to go.
O’Riain’s Bar in Corofin is the venue tonight (Saturday December 27th) for what is Corofin GAA’s club biggest fundraising event each year.
It is also one of the main social events in the village of Corofin each Christmas as permanent and former residents meet up over the festive period.
A record 690 horses have been signed up with the potential of more as the last of the horses go on sale on Saturday evening.
Named in honour of former club stalwart, the Willie Corbett Memorial Classic is the big auction race and serves as the highlight of the race night. Horses for the big Auction Race will be auctioned off on the night by local auctioneer Douglas Hurley of DNG O’Sullivan Hurley.
Prize money of €1,000 is on offer for the winning syndicate on the night.
