PANTOMIME fans in Clare enjoyed a full nine show production of Cinderella over the festive spell.

From December 23rd right through to January 1st, Pantaloons put on a total of nine shows of Cinderalla at glór bringing the panto back to Co Clare.

Sparks Dance School also took part with fourteen children involved in the production. Clare FM’s Colum McGrath made his panto debut as Buttons with Emma Traynor of Crusheen starring as Cinderella and Ennis model Timmie Murphy in the role of the Prince. Shop owner Laurence O’Brien was the Step-Mother with The Clare Echo’s very own Rebekah Crerand to the fore as both a maid and flower seller.

Patrick Kelly, Tina Kavanagh, Ciara Rees, Michael Daffy, Cristine Doherty, Kiya Healy and Johnny O’Loughlin completed the cast. Junior cast members included, Conor Parry, John Rellis, John Cleary, Alex O’Brien, Aimee Dolan and Aalia Tariq

Director of the shows, Maeve Fox outlined, “Due to COVID–19 last year’s panto did not take place so it was important to all cast and crew that this year’s production went ahead safely for both cast and audience”.

She added, “the panto is a wonderful tradition for families all over the country so it meant so much when the curtains opened on the 23rd of December, there was a huge satisfaction from all cast and crew as all the months of rehearsals in these trying times. It was a great feeling to be back on stage with all of the families in the audience taking part again”.
