OVER 200 senior citizens attended the annual Christmas party in Shannon on Tuesday.
The Goalpost Bar owned and operated by Wolfe Tones GAA club was the setting for the Christmas party.
Senior citizens from Shannon, Newmarket-on-Fergus, Sixmilebridge, Cratloe and Bunratty were in attendance where they were treated to tea, coffee and sandwiches from Tea and Tones with Zest providing cakes and buns.
Music from St Tola’s NS, St Aidan’s NS, St Connaire’s NS and Gaelscoil Donncha Rua set the scene with local singer Mikie Wall also singing some tunes. Helpers were on hand from Ei Electronics, Premier Investigation, Shannon Fire Station, AIB and An Garda Síochána. Gift vouches from Denver Morrissey Butchers, Tesco and Easons were among the prizes in the raffle.
