CLARE’s U20 hurlers starting team shows one change for Wednesday’s semi-final with Cork.
Terence Fahy’s charges take on the Noel Furlong managed Cork in SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh with the game commencing at 19:45.
It is the second meeting of the sides this year, it finished 1-16 apiece when they clashed in the opening round of the championship at O’Garney Park, Sixmilebridge at the end of March.
Both counties have lost to Tipperary who await the winners in the final while since their first round they have picked up victories over Waterford and Limerick.
For the semi-final, Fahy and his management team which includes Harty Cup winning coach Tomás Kelly, 2013 All-Ireland winner Conor Ryan and former Clare netminder, Andrew Fahey, have made one change from last week’s four point win over Limerick.
Daniel Costelloe of Ballyea makes his first championship start at midfield with Robert Loftus omitted as a result. He partners Ronan Kilroy in the middle of the park.
Fresh from scoring six points from play versus Limerick, Jack O’Neill continues at centre forward while fellow Clare senior panellist Diarmuid Stritch is on the edge of the square at full-forward. They are joined in attack by freetaker Fred Hegarty, James Organ, Michael Collins and Seán Boyce.
John Cahill captains the team from the full-back line which also includes Eoghan Gunning and Joe Casey with Mark Sheedy making his tenth successive U20 championship appearance between the posts.
Inagh/Kilnamona’s James Hegarty anchors the defence at centre back with Jamie Moylan and Eoin McMahon either side of him.
