A GARDA investigation is underway following a reported stabbing in Kilrush.

One man has been hospitalised and another male arrested after a stabbing took place on Moore Street in the West Clare town on Tuesday afternoon.

Gardaรญ discovered a man with head injuries after being alerted to an incident in Kilrush. A man in his thirties was taken to University Hospital Limerick to receive treatment shortly after this.

Another man in his twenties was arrested by Gardaรญ and he is currently detained at a Garda station in the county.

Investigations into the incident are continuing, a spokesperson for An Garda Sรญochรกna confirmed to The Clare Echo.
