THREE CLARE clubs have progressed to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup following Sunday’s action across the province.

Shannon Town Utd, Lifford FC and Newmarket Celtic have all advanced in the national competition with Bunratty Cratloe, Shannon Olympic, Fern Celtic A and B plus Bridge Utd all bowing out.

The clash of Kilkishen Celtic and Shannon Hibs was abandoned after Paddy McInerney sustained a broken leg.

Keith Shea had a haul of four goals to see Lifford FC win on the road away to Glin Rovers while Harvey Cullinan, David McCarthy and Dean Hegarty were on target to push Paddy Purcell’s Celtic into the second round.
