REPAIRS to the L-3068 from Brennan’s Cross to Meelick Church have been added to the current schedule of works in the Shannon Municipal District.

Senior executive engineer in the Shannon MD, Tom Mellett confirmed repairs to the L-3068 from Brennan’s Cross to Meelick Church had been sanctioned.

He stated, “as our current budgets for surface dressing have been allocated the road will be assessed for inclusion in the 2024 road works programme”.

An appeal for surface dressing was made by Cllr Michael Begley (IND). He wished to see the repairs completed “between the end of the overlay at Meelick Church to the end of the orange surface after the right angle bend east of Pass Road junction”.

Begley said he was “happy” with the commitments of the senior engineer and his proposal was seconded by Cllr PJ Ryan (IND).
