A man charged with the murder of Eoin Boylan is to remain in custody before a further court appearance next week.

Thirty nine year old Nassar Ahmed appeared before a sitting of Ennis District Court on Thursday morning charged with the murder of Eoin Boylan in Cloughleigh on Tuesday afternoon. Boylan was fatally injured in the incident at Gordon Drive and died before reaching the hospital.

Thursday’s court sitting heard that Ahmed has an address at The Mews, Kilrush Rd in Ennis. He applied for legal aid which was granted by Judge Mary Larkin and

Members of the Boylan family attended the brief hearing. The Court was told that medical or psychiatric assistance was not required at this moment in time for the accused by solicitor John Casey.

Judge Larkin remanded Ahmed in custody and he will appear in court via video link on Wednesday (April 22nd).
