A MAN in his sixties has died after he was hit by a tractor in Kilmurry on Saturday morning.

Emergency services responded to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a tractor on Saturday morning. The collision is understood to have occurred shortly after 10:15 on the L7006 in Kilmurry.

Medical personnel pronounced the man aged in his sixties dead at the scene. His body has been conveyed to University Hospital Limerick. The Coroner has been informed and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the fatal road traffic collision on the L7006. The road is currently closed for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators to take place.

Investigations are ongoing but Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 10am and 10.15am this morning, Saturday 21st June, 2025 are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

It is the second fatality in East Clare involving a tractor in the space of a month. A female cyclist in her seventies was killed in a collision with a tractor in Tulla on May 24th.
