ENNISโ€™ Laurie Ryan has been appointed as the new manager of the Treaty United FC womenโ€™s senior side.

Ahead of the 2026 League of Ireland Womenโ€™s Premier Division, Treaty have announced that the former Athlone Town captain would be taking charge of the side when they commence preparations for next season.

Laurieโ€™s soccer career began with Lifford Ladies when her pedigree was evident from an early age as she lined out with teams well above her own age. She first played League of Ireland in 2021, going on to captain Athlone Town to win the FAI Womenโ€™s Cup in 2023 and their first-ever league title in 2024.

Thirty one year Laurie stepped away from the League of Ireland earlier this year, four months ago she gave birth to her son Jack.

Plenty of success has also been enjoyed by Laurie on the ladies football field. She made her first appearance for Clare aged fourteen and has represented the county at all levels, including serving as captain for five years. She has won fourteen Clare senior titles with the Banner Ladies.

Alongside her playing achievements, Laurie is a lecturer in the Department of Sport and Health at the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS). She has also made her mark as a coach, guiding the TUS Womenโ€™s Soccer Team to victory in the Intervarsities Shield in 2023 and the Intervarsities Cup in 2024, the first in the universityโ€™s history.

Speaking about her appointment, Laurie stated, โ€œI am delighted to be here and to get this opportunity to manage at the top level of Womenโ€™s football in the country. Iโ€™m looking forward to getting started and having the chance to work with a group of really talented playersโ€.

Treaty United CEO Ciara McCormack said the club was โ€œthrilled to welcome Laurie to Treaty United. She represents everything we value at the club, leadership, professionalism, and a deep connection to the Mid-West region. Her track record as a captain, coach, and educator makes her an ideal fit to guide our womenโ€™s program into an exciting new chapterโ€.
