KILRUSH’s Brian King has been appointed as the new General Manager of the UL Sport Arena.

A graduate of the University of Limerick, Brian takes on the role having been Group General Manager of Kingfisher Club since April 2008. He was appointed by the UL Sport Board to the post which was advertised in October.

From Chapel Drive in Kilrush, Brian will be tasked with leading the organisation to deliver on its vision of UL Sport as “the best and most inclusive university sport and wellbeing experience while building on its reputation both locally and internationally as a centre of sports excellence”.

He has lived in Limerick for the past two decades and is actively involved in local sport through his management and coaching of underage teams both in both GAA and Basketball. Brian is a current board member of REPS Ireland (Register of Exercise Professionals) and is a NSAI Committee Member for Fitness Centre Standards Development.

Commenting on the appointment, John Fulham, Chair of UL Sport Board said “Brian has a wealth of knowledge, leadership and experience to bring to us alongside a real passion for sport, the University and Limerick City. I look forward to working with Brian as he leads UL Sport Staff to deliver on our vision and realising our potential in the years ahead”.
