WE WERE delighted to hear that Kilmihil Ladies Football club superhero Marie Egan has been crowned as the first ever Club Coach of the Year by the Ladies Gaelic Football Association.

The past and present players at Kilmihil GAA club put together a beautiful tribute to Marie and the LGFA were obviously very impressed.

“Marie is dedicated and committed and exceptional at what she does but more importantly she is kind and loved by all her players and parents alike.

“Never a bad word to be heard on the side-line only encouragement and praise, she is a referees dream and we are so lucky to have her,” the tribute reads.

Marie has been coaching the underage girls for over 20 years and also washes jerseys, does first aid, is the club PRO, the County Board delegate and gets involved in fundraising (phew!).

Marie will be presented with her award at a ceremony in Dublin on Saturday, February 17.
