Next weekend, Kilkishen Cultural Centre hosts an art exhibition entitled ‘Commitment to Freedom’.

Padraig Cotter will open the exhibition on Friday November 30th at 6:30pm. From 11am to 1pm the following day, a free workshop ‘Art as Meditation’ will take place, however spaces are limited so booking is essential, to do so email artoutoftheordinary@gmail.com

A series of 12 watercolour paintings by Jacinta Curley which were inspired by different animals including the salmon, hare, fox, deer, squirrel, horse, cat, badger, otter, bat, bull and frog will be on display over the course of the weekend.

Jacinta’s paintings were done with the intention to really meet the spirit of these creatures and to learn from what they know they convey a sense of immediacy and movement. A Clare based artist, Jacinta’s work aims to meet the essence of what is painted while honouring the silence or spaciousness inherent in all things.
