PETER KEANE is to be ratified as the new manager of the Clare senior footballers on Tuesday and he is in the process of finalising his management team.

As first reported by The Clare Echo, Keane’s management ticket is set to include Miltown Malbay’s Eoin Curtin and former Roscommon coach Peter Tormey both in coaching roles with Shane O’Rourke as the strength and conditioning coach.

Keane has been making approaches in the past week to try add selectors and a goalkeeper coach to his management but no new personnel have been added as of yet.

The Clare Echo understands that the former Kerry manager is to hold his first meeting with the Clare panel next weekend.

Midfielder Darragh Bohannon previously confirmed to The Clare Echo he would not be available for Clare in 2025 as he is currently travelling, the Shannon Gaels clubman had been one of the most experienced players in the squad.

It remains to be seen on what basis the three-time All-Ireland winning manager will be recruiting new players to the panel as he was also in attendance for one game during the club championship while only Eoin Curtin of his management has been present for multiple games in this year’s club campaigns through his role as a coach with the St Joseph’s Miltown seniors.

Both Eoin Cleary and Keelan Sexton were unavailable for Mark Fitzgerald’s Clare squad last season, Cleary was in the United States of America for the summer while Sexton had been based abroad for the earlier part of the year. Conversations with the duo are expected to be among the top priorities for the soon to be appointed Keane.
