WITH the scramble for All-Ireland senior hurling final tickets well and truly underway, a technical glitch has emerged.

Members of GAA clubs in Clare that were successful in applying for tickets as of Friday at 1pm were able to access an online link to try purchase their tickets.

Unique codes were given to each individual member but issues soon presented themselves as only half the allocation requested could be accessed so persons who were looking for four tickets could only get two and those attempting to get two tickets could only obtain one.

At 13:47, Head of Operations with Clare GAA, Deirdre Murphy issued correspondence to club secretaries in Clare where she outlined, “There are issues with the codes and links have been disabled until this issue is rectified. We will be in touch as soon as we have a further update”.

A notification issued from one club which was obtained by The Clare Echo detailed that “issues with codes” emerged during the sale of tickets on Friday. “If your code allocation is not working as expected then please hold off from purchasing. Active Codes are in the process of being suspended temporarily as its being investigated by the GAA”.

The Clare Echo has contacted the Gaelic Athletic Association for comment.
