Less than five new COVID-19 cases are known in Co Clare for what is the second day in succession.

Clare continues to have the fifth lowest 14 day incidence rate per 100k of the population of all counties in the Republic of Ireland. The figure of 46.3 is reflective of this.

Within the past fortnight, there have been 55 new cases of the virus in Clare. Latest data from the National Public Health Emergency Data (NPHET) indicated that less than five new cases have been diagnosed in the most recent daily case count.

Across the country, 423 new cases are known with 199 in Dublin, 41 in Kildare, 23 in Meath, 20 in Galway, 18 in Westmeath and the remaining 122 spread across 19 other counties.

An additional five deaths related to the virus have been reported in the Republic of Ireland. 4 of these deaths occurred in April, and 1 in February. There has been a total of 4,732 COVID-19 related deaths in Ireland.

There has been a reduction in the amount of persons in critical care as a result of COVID-19, latest data from 8am on Wednesday noted that 56 individuals remained in ICUs, they are included among the 232 in hospitals, 13 of which were admitted in the past 24 hours.

As of April 4th 2021, 936,087 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Ireland, 272,676 people have received both doses.
