Shannon’s Adam Moloney remains rightly optimistic about his musical future having narrowly missed out on a place in Simon Cowell’s newest band.

Adam was one of the stars of X Factor: The Band, a revamped version of the long-running television music competition.

Thousands auditioned for a place in the band with Moloney just one step away from making the final six boys. On Friday’s show it was announced he was not included in Unwritten Rule, the boyband that would go on to lose Sunday’s finale to Real Like You, the girl group that is set to sign a record deal with Syco, the label owned by Simon Cowell.

Viewers described the Clare singer songwriter as one of the best in the competition with judge Nicole Scherzinger noting a similarity between him and James Arthur who has topped the UK charts on two occasions. Adam was praised for singing an original song, Landslide at the Resorts World Arena in front of a packed Birmingham audience.

“I want to thank everyone for the support. I had the best time of my life on X Factor: The Band,” the St Caimins Community School student wrote on Instagram following the conclusion of the series.
