Mechanical works to rectify heating issues at Ennis National School are to be carried out.

Funding from the Department of Education has been granted for the works, a start date for which has yet to be announced.

Clare TD, Cathal Crowe (FF) praised the leadership of principal Brian Troy at what he called “one of the premier schools in the county town”.

“As a former teacher, I know it’s a real stand-out institution and I know Mr Troy and the school generally have a great reputation around town in terms of what they deliver. As such a new school, Ennis NS has some of the best facilities around and this specifically will go towards fixing a couple of issues with the regulation of heat in the school,” Crowe stated.

He added, “In this day and age, every school should have a state-of-the-art heating system to keep teachers and pupils alike warm during the long winter months. I hope that the funding allocated by Minister Foley will ensure that this is the case and that these remedial works really finish off the wonderful facility that is the new Ennis NS”.
