Clare senior footballer Kevin Harnett will play his club football with Cratloe this year.

Harnett recently transferred from Meelick to Newmarket-on-Fergus where he now resides. Having secured the transfer he successfully applied for permission to assist Cratloe, a neighbouring club to Newmarket, in senior football this year.

Incidentally Harnett played minor football with Cratloe when his former club did not have teams in juvenile competition. He won a Junior A championship with Meelick.

Recent seasons have seen the Banner defender line out for Newmarket Celtic in county, provincial and national competitions. The primary school teacher formerly played for Limerick clubs Corbally Utd and Somerville Rovers during his youth.

His addition to the Cratloe side will be a big boost to the 2020 county finalists. The South Clare club are managed by Colm Collins who continues in charge of the Clare footballers and was also over the Cratloe minors when Kevin last wore the Blue and White.
