€15,500 worth of suspected cocaine and cannabis was seized by Gardaí after carrying out a search warrant at the residence of a Clare man who failed to stop for them on Saturday afternoon.

In Ennis on Saturday afternoon, Gardaí attached to Ennis Garda Station arrested a male motorist after he failed to stop when instructed.

During a follow-up operation, including searches under warrant of a residential property in Ennis, approximately €15,500 worth of suspected cocaine and cannabis were seized.

Forensic analysis is to be carried out on these drugs. Gardaí also confiscated a sum of cash and a quantity of designer goods.

Gardaí arrested a male in his twenties. He was subsequently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. He has since been released without charge, and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations are ongoing according to Gardaí.
