Wind chart: Magic Seaweed

AH JANUARY, you just have to love it.

The wind that cuts through you and turns your fingers to ice, the rain that turns your perfectly manicured hair into a fuzzy nightmare and the air so cold that it makes you want to wear your pjs to work.

Well, the weather is true to form again today as there are not one, not two, not three, but FOUR weather warnings in place for Co Clare today.

There is a status orange gale warning for westerly gales on Clare coastal waters, with potential to develop into storm force winds later this afternoon and evening.

There are also three separate yellow weather warnings for Co Clare, including a weather advisory for high or very high seas leading to an increased risk of coastal flooding.

Met Eireann have issued national a snow/ice warning leading to possible snow accumulations and slippery conditions.

The national weather service have a yellow wind warning in place with mean winds speeds of 55 to 65 km/h giving gusts of 90 to 110km/h.

They also warn that the winds may be even stronger temporarily later this afternoon and evening with severe gusts in Co Clare.
