Four Clare teenagers were part of the Munster U18 side that faced off with Leinster in the first round of the Interprovincial Championships.

Craig Riordan (St Senan’s RFC, Shannon), Darragh Burns (Kilrush RFC), Donnacha Morrissey (Kilrush RFC) and Luca Cleary (Ennis RFC) were part of Noel O’Meara’s squad with starting jerseys handed to Riordan and Burns.

Munster U18 Clubs will also face off against Ulster and Connacht on the weekends of August 28th/29th and September 4th/5th.

Kilrush’s Andrew Purcell lined out for the Munster U17s in their clash with Leinster on Wednesday while on Friday, Kilmaley’s Eilish Cahill scored a try for the Munster Development Squad who defeated Connacht Development 24-10 with Cahill’s Ennis RFC clubmate Emily Murphy also in action. Aoibheann Hahessy of Ennis RFC represented the Munster U18s in their meeting with Leinster on Saturday.
