Complaints of flooding issues at The Quay in Doonbeg are to be investigated by Clare County Council staff.

An appeal was issued to the local authority by Cllr Gabriel Keating (FG) to address flooding complications at the Quay in Rhynagonaught, Doonbeg and was seconded by Cllr Cillian Murphy (FF).

Alan Kennelly, senior executive engineer committed to examining the matter. “Part of the problem may be caused by a recently constructed and reinforced concrete wall,” he believed. “A core may have to be drilled through this wall which will require a specialised contractor”.

“I’m not an engineer,” Cllr Keating responded but added, “The side road is destroying the surface of the road”. He paid tribute to Council officials for agreeing to have a second look at the matter.
