A MAN in his thirties has died following a fatal road traffic collision in Kilmurry McMahon.

An appeal for witnesses has been launched by An Garda Síochána. The collision involving a car was reported earlier on Sunday morning.

Fatal injuries were sustained by the driver of the car, a man aged in his thirties.

The local coroner has been notified and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.

The road remains closed while a technical examination is being carried out by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 3am and 7am are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
