One new COVID-19 case has been recorded in Co Clare.

Across the country on Tuesday, it was revealed that there are 45 more confirmed cases, 31 of which are associated with outbreaks or closed contacts of a confirmed case and 4 that are attributed to community transmission. 26,253 persons have been diagnosed with COVID-19 since its outbreak in March.

Further detail from the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) has flagged that 77 percent of Tuesday’s cases are under the age of 45. Once again Kildare accounts for the majority of new cases (33) followed by Dublin (7) and four other unnamed counties amass for the remaining five cases. 35 of the new cases are in men and 10 are women.

No further deaths have been recorded by the Department of Health, as such the death toll remains at 1,763.

An additional case has been attributed to Co Clare. Detail released on Monday revealed that 8 new cases were recorded in the county on Sunday bringing the total amount of people to have tested positive for the virus here to 398. This figure has increased by one following further analysis by the HPSC.
