A refurbished O’Briensbridge property has gone on the market for €790,000.

Rye Hill Lodge underwent a fifteen month renovation during the lockdown and is now available on the higher end of the housing market from Sherry Fitzgerald. The six-bed house built in the 1990s is laid out over four floors and measures 5,500sq ft, five times the floor space of the average three-bed semi-detached.

Some of the features of the lower ground floor include a bar, gym, sauna, pool room and wine cellar.

Developer Jack Walsh and his business partner Brian Lenihan oversaw the renovation of the house which sits on three-quarters of an acre, which is a mixture of wild and landscaped ground. “The site is large, but part of it is left as a natural woodland, and sown with wildflowers, which is low maintenance. The formal gardens take more care, but it’s worth the effort,” Jack explained.

“Many of the neighbours called into us while we were carrying out the refurbishment and told us that this was always a welcoming house and a great place for a party. So we decided to make sure it was once again a great place to live and equally to hold a party,” he added.
