An Ennis native has been appointed Honorary Consul for the Republic of Slovenia.

Liam Moloney, the well-known litigation solicitor of Moloney Solicitors practice in Naas was given the appointment by the Slovenia Government. The consulate will be based in Naas.

A past pupil of St Flannan’s College where he won a Dean Ryan medal, Liam has been running his legal practice in Naas for the past 21 years and has immersed himself into life in Co Kildare which included representing the Lilywhites on the hurling field.

Currently, an Executive Board member of the Pan European Personal Injury Lawyers Association, Liam is also a member of the Board of Governors for Ireland and the UK of the American Association for Justice.

“I am delighted to have been appointed as the new Honorary Consul for Slovenia. I look forward to further developing greater co-operation between Slovenia and Ireland in the areas of Trade, Tourism and Investment,” Moloney said of the new role.
