glór is hosting a thrilling night of song as a quintet of singers, known as El Divas, have joined forces to present a powerful and moving journey through song on Saturday night, April 14.

Two Ennis ladies, Helen Catherine Ball, London trained, and classically trained Janet Woods, are joined by two Limerick ladies, Jessica Bray and Amanda Minihan, both locally and London trained.

These four EL DIVAS have after years of trying, finally aligned their schedules to bring you on a ‘ Musical Journey’ through song of their hopes, dreams, trials and tribulations and how their friendships have carried them through. Janet and Helen are connected not just through their place of birth, but through Helen’s parents and Janet’s grandparents, who knew each other through the hearing-impaired community. This, in itself, is ironic but when Helen’s vocals and the coloratura, lyrical tones of Janet’s voice meet you will be brought on another journey.

Helen has performed in the West End and Ireland’s National Concert Hall while Janet Woods, who is a much loved teacher at Villiers School, is delighted to tread the Musical Theatre boards again after years on the Classical circuit.

EL DIVAS are delighted to be working with Ennis-based Michael Hennessy for this production. Michael will be joined by Hugh Connolly (violinist) & Danny Byrt (drummer).

Tickets are on sale at glór Box Office on 065 6843103 or glor.ie
