Donald Trump

WELL it’s official, the Donald will visit our shores later this year.

It’s expected he will pay a visit to the Trump International Golf Club in Doonbeg, which he took over in 2014.

The White House issued a statement today outlining that the US President will visit Ireland November as part of a European trip, to “renew the deep and historic ties between our two nations”.

Donald’s son Eric visited the family business earlier this summer and there was a large Garda presence, with Gardai working in 12 hour security shifts in the searing heat.

Trump last visited the Doonbeg golf club in 2014, complete with red carpet welcome and musical trio at Shannon airport.

Security is expected to be ramped up a notch or 10 when he arrives this November and it is likely the areas he is planning to visit will be inaccessible for days beforehand.

So it might be a good idea to get that walk in at Doughmore while you can.
