A POTENTIAL Ennis Dons derby is on the cards for the last sixteen of the Ennis Carpets Clare Cup.

Having overcome Corofin Harps in the second round, Ennis Dons A progressed to the last sixteen of the Clare Cup. Should the club’s second team defeat Hermitage FC B, it will tee up a first-ever Dons derby.

Holders Newmarket Celtic should they account for Manus Celtic in the second round will travel to neighbours Shannon Town.

Last year’s beaten finalists Tulla Utd will host Hermitage FC A at The Cragg while Tulla’s B team also have home advantage and will welcome Shannon Town Utd B to East Clare.

Avenue Utd have been drawn at home to Connolly Celtic while Bridge Utd will be away to the winner of Rhine Rovers and Shannon Town Utd C.

Sunday’s West Clare derby between Kilrush Rangers and Callan Utd takes place in Kilrush at 10:30, the winner of this tie will face either Fair Green Celtic or Sporting Ennistymon.

Elsewhere, Bridge Celtic and Shannon Hibs will both fancy their chances of making the quarter-finals.
