Lisdoonvarna

NORTH CLARE has experienced a significant burst to a water main with major disruptions of water supply.

Households and businesses in Ballyvaughan, Doolin, Fanore and Lisdoonvarna are experiencing disruptions to their supply of water since early on Saturday afternoon.

Darragh Conneely, Uisce Éireann’s Operations Manager said that every effort is being made to restore water supply fully as quickly as possible. “We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers impacted for their support while our repair works are ongoing”.

Repairs are expected to be completed later by Saturday evening, Typically, it takes two to three hours following repairs for normal supply to be restored to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, customers located at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience a longer delay as the network recharges.

To ensure the safety of the crews carrying out the repairs to the burst and the safety of the public, traffic management will be in place and will be clearly signposted.
