Crosbie & Ireland miss out on European relay final

On his first occasion representing his country in a major championships, Cathal Crosbie narrowly missed out on a place in the European final

Saturday morning saw Crosbie alongside Craig Newell, Shane Irwin and Chris O’Donnell finish tenth in the European U23 Athletics Championship 4x400m relay. Their time of 3:09:02 was four spots off a final place, 0.4 of a second stopped them from advancing out of the semi-finals.

Cratloe’s Crosbie on Thursday ran in the 400m individual finishing in fifth place. The Ennis Track sprinter said it was “an absolute honour” to represent his country in Sweden.
