Eoin Cleary has been appointed as Clare senior football captain, succeeding Gary Brennan.

A three time Clare SFC winner with St Josephs Miltown, Eoin has been a member of the county senior football panel since 2014. With a number of departing players from last year’s squad including Gary Brennan, Jamie Malone and Sean O’Donoghue, Cleary is now one of the most experienced players on the panel.

His first outing as captain takes place this Sunday in Ciaran’s Bar. A poker classic will be taking place in aid of the footballers training fund and kicks off at 6:30pm. €25 is the entry fee with a bonus promised for early entrants.

Clare open their National Football League campaign on January 26th away to Westmeath in Mullingar.
