Cleaning of gullies in Cree is hoped to limit the instances of flooding in the West Clare village.

Clare County Council are due to clean the gullies at either side of Cree village. “If subsequently, spot flooding remains an issue at this location Clare County Council will install a dished channel to improve the effectiveness of the gullies,” senior executive engineer Alan Kennelly outlined.

His comments came in response to a motion from Cllr Gabriel Keating (FG) to the West Clare Municipal District. He had asked that a channel linking the gullies already in place be installed “to avoid ongoing flooding on to the road from Cree Village Cross to Lenihan’s Garage on L2048”.

Cllr Keating praised the solution outlined by Kennelly and was seconded by Cllr Shane Talty (FF).
