CLARE will line out in three All-Ireland finals in what is viewed as a major weekend for soccer in the county.

Strong Clare support is expected at the University of Limerick across the weekend as young Banner ballers go in search of All-Ireland glory.

First up at 11:30 on Saturday, Clare’s U14 Kennedy Cup side captained by Matt Jones face off with Galway in the Bowl Final. The Davy Wall managed outfit come into the game off the back of defeating Carlow 3-0 in the quarter-finals followed by a 2-0 semi-final victory against the fancied North Dublin Schoolboys League, the goals coming from Jack Daly and Tiernan Adelu.

On Sunday, there will be a girls double header. At 11:30, the U15 Gaynor Cup side managed by Donal Magee face off with Limerick County and this is followed by the U13 meeting of Clare versus Sligo/Leitrim. The U15s defeated Kilkenny 2-1 in the semi-finals while it finished 3-2 on penalties after extra time in the U13 semi-final between Clare and Waterford. Seán Cregan and Amy Horgan are in charge of the U13 side.

CSSL Chairman, Brendan Wall said it was a very positive achievement for the county to be contesting in three All-Ireland finals. “What other county has three teams in final of the inter-county, there is nobody, we’re up there. Carlow came to Newmarket and thought they were playing a bunch of hurlers,” he said of the recent quarter-final win.
