A TOURING NEW York gaelic football side will face off with a Clare selection in Quilty on Tuesday (June 27th).

7pm is the throw-in time for the game. The visitors are coming to Ireland to play in an invitational tournament in Connacht in which London will also be taking part.

New York are managed by former Kilmurry Ibrickane footballer, Michael Killeen who won numerous underage titles with his club before emigrating to the states in the late 80s.

Members of the New York side also participate in a number of sports such as lacrosse, basketball, soccer and baseball.

Based in the Bronx this team have been together since the U14 grade are were due to come to Ireland in 2020 to play in the Féile Peil na nÓg but it was cancelled due to Covid.

Clare’s minor footballers are managed by Kilmurry Ibrickane’s Dermot Coughlan who played are all levels for club and county.
