CLARE LGFA are seeking to hold a double-header for the ladies footballs senior and intermediate county finals in Cusack Park.

A proposal has been submitted by the Clare LGFA Executive that the senior and intermediate finals be held in Zimmer Biomet Pรกirc Cรญosรณg on Saturday October 4th.

This proposal is to be put to the floor at the July meeting of the Clare County Board which is scheduled to take place this coming Tuesday.

Chairperson of Clare LGFA, Therese Roseingrave explained, โ€œThis would see the Intermediate Ladies and Senior Ladies showcase their finals on the same evening, in what promises to be a landmark occasion for Clare Ladies Football. The proposal, which aims to elevate the visibility and atmosphere of our flagship fixtures, is subject to ratification at the next County Board meetingโ€.

Last October, clubs defied the previous LGFA Executive when the monthly meeting saw delegates table a proposal from the floor for Cusack Park to host the senior final as a curtain raiser to the Clare SFC decider, a move which left the top table shocked after one delegate received the go-ahead from a senior Clare GAA official while the ladies football meeting was ongoing.

Kilmurry Ibrickane prevailed in the 2024 senior decider against St Josephโ€™s Doora/Barefield which took place prior to the Clare SFC final between ร‰ire ร“g and Kilmurry Ibrickane.

As per Clare GAAโ€™s master fixtures plan, the Clare SHC final is scheduled to take place on October 5th with the Clare SFC final down for decision on October 12th. Ordinarily, the Clare IHC final is held a day before the SHC final with Cusack Park the most common venue. The impact of the ladies football proposal on this arrangement will be teased out at the County Board meeting.
