Clare’s senior hurlers have discovered the side they will face in a bid to get their season back on track.

Brian Lohan’s charges will face Laois next weekend on Saturday at 13:15 in Nowlan Park following Monday morning’s draw.

After a disappointing ten point defeat to Limerick, Clare will be aiming to bounce back in the qualifiers and have received the most favourable of the draws available.

Laois managed by Eddie Brennan suffered a 2-31 0-23 defeat to Dublin in the Leinster SHC quarter-finals last weekend. The O’Moore county reached the quarter-finals of the All-Ireland SHC in 2019 where they exited at the hands of eventual champions Tipperary.

July 2016 was the last championship meeting between Clare and Laois, on that occasion in Cusack Park it finished 5-32 0-12 in favour of the Banner County with Aron Shanagher raiding for a hat-trick.

Cork and Dublin will face off in the other round one qualifier while Wexford managed by Sixmilebridge’s Davy Fitzgerald plus Liam Sheedy’s Tipperary have been handed a bye into the second round after a weekend in which they both shipped disappointing defeats.

Fixture details are to be confirmed by the CCCC later on Monday.

All-Ireland SHC Qualifiers Round One:
Dublin v Cork
Laois v Clare
