Clare camogie have announced a joint management team for its senior and junior sides for 2022.

Ger O’Connell’s three year term as senior manager came to an end in August when Clare did not progress to the knockout stages. At the end of the month, the junior campaign finished with a semi-final defeat to Armagh.

A management team of eight individuals was ratified at Monday’s meeting of the Clare Camogie Board to take charge of both the senior and junior sides for next year.

It includes last year’s coach Conor Dolan originally from Meelick, S&C coach Stephen Cusack of Newmarket-on-Fergus, Ruan’s Francie O’Halloran and Parteen’s Éanna Mulvihill remain on from the senior set-up.

Having been joint manager with the juniors last year, Ann Marie McGann remains involved but her colleague Tim McGrath does not. Eugene Foudy of Inagh/Kilnamona was coach to the juniors last year and is involved once again.

New additions for 2022 include John Carmody of Kilmaley, the last person to guide Clare to glory at senior level in the provincial championship. Colm Fitzgerald of Sixmilebridge, the son of All-Ireland winning manager Davy Fitzgerald is also added to the ticket, it will be his first time coaching at inter-county level having previously been involved with Truagh/Clonlara for last year’s league.

“In a change from previous years where there were two management teams for our Adult teams, the management team for 2022 combines personnel from both the Senior & Junior management of 2021 with the addition of some new personnel also to the team make up. This is a new and exciting departure for Clare Camogie which will now see the coming together of both the Senior and Junior panels to build on the progress made under our previous managements,” a spokesperson for Clare Camogie told The Clare Echo.
