CLARE is truly upping its Christmas song game this year as Corofin singer-songwriter Fíona Guiheen is releasing not one, but two absolutely stunning festive songs.

She is just about to release a Christmas EP called ‘A Christmas Wish,’ which features two songs; A Christmas Wish & Deep Peace.

A Christmas Wish is a brand new song written by Ennis songwriter Ronan Daly and showcases local musicians – Martin O’Malley on Guitar, Harmonium, PJ Curtis Guitar, Jon O’Connell Double Bass, Mick Kinsella on Percussion and David Murphy on Dobro and Children from Corofin singing on the choruses.

The second song is called Deep Peace – an old Irish Blessing to a traditional arrangement –  features Sharon Howley on Cello and Martin O’Malley on Guitar.

It will be featured on her forthcoming Debut Album ‘Butterfly Blue’; due to be released early spring of next year.

Butterfly Blue was produced by PJ Curtis and recorded in Malbay Studios, Co Clare and Prabath Sound Studio in Bangalore, India.

Fiona will be joined by Mike Hanrahan from Stocktons Wing to launch her EP and music video on Saturday, December 9 in Teach Ceoil, Corofin.
