Christmas Gift Bags | West Clare Family Resource Centre

The West Clare Family Resource Centre have been busy delivering Christmas gift bags to over 160 older people in West Clare this week.  In a normal year, the Supports and Services for Over 55’s Project holds a fun-filled Christmas Lunch for all the people who participate in the project throughout the year.  Funded through the HSE National Lottery Fund, the Christmas Lunch was a social highlight of the year aimed at celebrating our community and reducing social isolation at a time of the year that can be lonely for many people, particularly those living in rural areas.

The Project aims to spread some festive cheer all around West Clare, whilst also maintaining a strong link with their participants who have been without face-to-face activities and events for the past two years.  The Project received donations from several local businesses to help cover the delivery costs and partnered with Queally’s Supervalu in Kilrush, who did a brilliant job of filling the bags with seasonal treats.

For any enquiries about the activities and services offered by the Support and Services for Over 55’s Project contact 065 905 2173.
