A road linking Cree village to Cahermurphy will be considered for inclusion for improvements this year along with a junction approaching Cooraclare.

Inclusion of the L2040 from Cree village to Cahermurphy was requested to form part of Clare County Council’s road works scheme for 2021 by Cllr Bill Chambers (FF). His bid was supported by Cllr Joe Garrihy (FG).

Chambers also asked that the L6162 from the N67 junction to Brisla be added to the plan of works.

Senior executive engineer in the West Clare Municipal District, Alan Kennelly confirmed that the roadworks programme had yet to be finalised. “The L-2048 will be considered for inclusion on the completed schedule,” he added.

Kennelly informed the meeting that the L6162 would also be discussed when the plan was to be drafted.
