TRUAGH/CLONLARA, Scariff/Ogonnelloe and Inagh/Kilnamona were among the winners in the fourth round of the Clare Credit Unions senior camogie championship.

For the second week in a row, Sixmilebridge played out a draw, this time with Clarecastle/Ballyea.

For the second week in succession, Sixmilebridge played a draw in the Clare senior camogie championship, this time with Clarecastle/Ballyea, having shared the spoils with their neighbours Newmarket-on-Fergus a week earlier.

The sides were evenly matched throughout this contest which was played at Clooney and they went to the break at 0-4 each.

Hannah Mai Neylon’s goal in the closing minutes proved to be a crucial score in a tie in which the ‘Bridge looked to be heading for victory until the Clarecastle/Ballyea full forward struck.

Scariff/Ogonnelloe kept up their strong challenge for honours with this victory over Kilkishen at Fr. McNamara Park on Saturday evening.

They led from the start and were 0-11 to 1-3 in front at the interval, the losers goal having come from Siobhan Lenihan.

Abby Walsh top scored for the winners with 0-12 on the evening, four coming from play. Seven players shared in the team’s impressive final tally.

Champions Truagh/Clonlara continued their march towards the play offs in this season’s title race with a victory over Kilmaley at Clareabbey on Saturday evening.

Leah Hawes and Roisin Begley were the goalscorers for the winners while Kilmaley’s goals came from Clare McMahon and Keela Markham.

Aine O’Louglin top scored for the winners with 0-8 from play and frees.

Kilmaley operated with a sweeper, a role filled by Jodie Cahill on the evening and while this made things difficult for the holders, the South Clare side’s greater experience won out in the end.

Inagh/Kilnamona have qualified for the senior camogie championship semi-final thanks to their latest victory.

At Gurteen on Friday evening they had to battle all the way against a St. Josephs side that pilied on the pressure from the outset.

In the end, the greater experience of the winners proved decisive on an evening when Clare Hehir struck for both of her side’s goals while Aoibhin Ryan landed seven points.

Aisling Hannon was the home side’s goalscorer in a tie in which six players shared in their final tally.
