CANVASSING has concluded with candidates turning to social media to make one last push but now it is time for the people of Clare to have their say.

Final words of encouragement have been issued by candidates in their last plea to win over voters.

Polling stations open at 7am on Friday morning and votes can be cast until 10pm. There are a total of 180 voting boxes across the county.

Candidates may not have been knocking on doors for day nineteen of the campaign but they were busy communicating via WhatsApp and other means of social media to try convince the public to give them the coveted number one vote.

Still not sure of who to vote for? Well, The Clare Echo has compiled a handy directory with links to our one on one interviews with candidates plus our journey on the campaign trail with eleven of the twenty contenders. If you have a bit more time on your hands then check out The Electoral Chair: Election Debate on YouTube.
