An arrest has been made following a fatal stabbing in Gordon Drive, Cloughleigh on Tuesday afternoon.

One man was killed following a serious assault on Tuesday afternoon in Ennis, Gardaí were notified of the incident shortly after 3pm.

Later that evening, a man in his late thirties was arrested. He is currently being detained at Ennis Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Gardaí are continuing an ongoing investigation. The scene surrounding Gordon Drive has been sealed off to allow for a technical examination.

They have appealed to anyone that was in the area of Cloughleigh Estate and Gordon Drive between 2:30pm and 3:30pm that may be able to assist them to come forward. Similarly road users with camera footage have also been identified as individuals that may be able to aid their investigation.
