TRUAGH/CLONLARA’s feat in winning a first Munster club senior camogie title has brought immense pride to the county.

Speaking minutes after her club, Truagh/Clonlara were crowned Munster senior camogie champions, player of the game Aine O’Loughlin said “it still hasn’t sunk in, I can’t believe what has just happened”.

The top scorer in Saturday’s Munster final replay added “deciding a game on 45m frees is never nice as Gailtir will tell you but, by God, was this a sweet win. I’m just so proud of this team, no matter what is thrown at us, we have got over it”.

The play anywhere forward who was also selected as the player of the game in the recent Clare final continued “it was helter skelter today We knew coming down here today that there would be nothing between the teams”

Continuing she said “bodies were tired facing into extra time but we said we would get over that. We knew we didn’t start well last week, maybe the occasion got to us a little and all week we said we must do better at the start this time. Today we stared well and it stood to us”.

“As I said having the game decided on 45’s was cruel on Gailtir but when it came to taking the frees we had confidence. We backed any of the players in the squad. Whatever way it went with the frees, the blame wasn’t going to be on them. We are a team and history has been made”, she concluded
