An assessment is to be completed by staff within the Ennis Municipal District over access issues experienced by a family living on the Kilrush Rd in getting to their home.

At the September meeting of the Ennis Municipal District, Cllr Pat Daly (FF) asked that efforts be made to “accommodate the Lynch family access to their house by arranging and putting down a square box and a right turn on it, on the main Kilrush Road opposite Curleys”.

Executive engineer, Barry Conway confirmed that the location would be assessed “to determine what difficulties are being experienced by the homeowner and to see if anything can be done to improve their situation”.

“It is a couple having severe difficulty accessing their house,” Cllr Daly highlighted. He was hopeful the engineer would visit the location. “They are all upset over it, the cars are flying down,” he added.

In supporting the motion, Cllr Paul Murphy (FG) felt there was “room for a filtered turn” at the location.

However, no such optimism was expressed by Conway. “It is very hard to accommodate when there is a yellow box for a specific house. All main thoroughfares into Ennis are very busy”.
