SCARIFF/OGONNELLOE are confident wing-back Susan Vaughan’s suspension will be lifted in time for their Munster final.

Vaughan was shown a straight red card by referee Mike Flannery in additional time of Saturday’s three point win over Inniscarra. As it stands, the former Clare senior and minor camogie player will miss the Munster Final against Tipperary’’s Drom & Inch on January 22nd.

Speaking on Scariff Bay Community Radio, manager of the East Clare side, David Sullivan confirmed that they would be appealing Flannery’s decision. “I’m going to say it wasn’t a red card but that is my opinion, I’m a Scariff/Ogonnelloe person, my opinion is a yellow would have done. We will be appealing it and will be doing everything in our power to make sure Susan is free to play the next day”.

Sullivan expressed his confidence that Susan would be cleared to play in the final. “I don’t think there was a dirty stroke in that game, there was a couple of late tackles and conditions countered to that but I think Susan will be playing in the Munster final as far as I’m concerned, we’ll have enough evidence to get her off”.
