SHANNON LIONS CLUB have paid tribute to the people of Clare who supported their festive fundraising efforts.

Two weeks prior to Christmas, Shannon Lions Club held both a Flag Day and Church Gate Collection in the town as part of their annual fundraiser, both of which were reported to have been very successful.

An annual food appeal was also completed by the Lions Club, this year it was done in collaboration with Iceland.

Mental health services in Shannon and the Family Resource Centre both received three hampers and three Dunnes Stores food vouchers each to be distributed to personnel in need of them.

Supply of oil was also organised for one Shannon resident by the Lions Club on Christmas Eve.

President of Shannon Lions Club, Tony Walsh paid tribute to the people of Shannon, Sixmilebridge, Newmarket-on-Fergus and Cratloe for their continued support while also acknowledging the efforts of their members.

“It is important for people to know that the Shannon Lions Club is always there if people that are in need of support need to contact us,” Walsh stated.
